Ycone Tower

A unique floating silhouette made of double opal glass cladding and situated at the entrance to the docks completes the built-up areas in the new “La Confluence” district on the Lyon peninsula. The design of the 64-meter-high tower-like building “Ycone” comes from none other than the renowned architect Jean Nouvel. Spread over 14 floors are 92 apartments - including 27 units on a social housing basis - which, together with a 600-square-meter retail space on the first floor, form a lively mix of residential and mixed-use areas.

The lightness of the double-shell façade construction is based on the strength of the slabs, which are assembled on each level with beams made of Schöck Signo® formwork in extruded fiber concrete of the type C40 / 50. The specialist for concrete products Plattard relied on this innovative, prefinished solution from Schöck for the prefabrication of more than 300 running meters of assembled beams at the heart of the Ycone Tower.
