Insulation at the highest level

Thermal bridges in cantilevered components are often the cause of increased heat loss, damp walls, and mold growth. Schöck's load-bearing thermal insulation elements minimize thermal bridges at the highest level, thereby preventing structural damage and offering planners optimal design freedom.

The challenge and the solution

Energy losses occur at structural components that allow more heat to pass through. Heat therefore escapes more rapidly to the outside than through adjacent structural components. These areas are referred to as thermal bridges. In addition to the increased energy loss, structural damage often occurs in these locations due to condensation or mould.

This heat loss can only be reduced by continuous thermal insulation. Load-bearing thermal insulation elements such as Schöck Isokorb® are used in order to achieve this. Schöck Isokorb® is not only part of the thermal insulation, it is also part of the static system.

with Schöck Isokorb®
Thermally separated balcony connection. The load-bearing thermal insulation element minimizes heat losses to the absolute minimum.
without Schöck Isokorb®
Continuous balcony slab without thermal separation. Heat flows through the balcony slab into the cold exterior area, creating a thermal bridge.

Wide range of applications and unusual geometries

Schöck load-bearing thermal insulation elements minimise thermal bridges to an outstanding degree. This prevents structural damage whilst offering planners maximum design flexibility.
