Strong Connection

In concrete slabs or retaining walls, the transfer of shear forces in expansion joints is often complex. Conventional solutions require time-consuming measures. The Schöck Stacon® shear dowels enable a simple and reliable transfer of shear forces.

The challenge and the solution

Expansion joints must be used when installing long concrete components to allow deformation free of constraint forces. Ensuring constraint-free transmission of shear forces in expansion joints usually requires additional time and effort. Conventional measures are supporting brackets, sliding bearings or lap joints.

With Schöck Stacon®
In addition to accommodating horizontal movement and vertical load transfer, Stacon® simplifies planning, formwork, and reinforcement placement.
Without Schöck Stacon®
Support brackets are often time- and labor-intensive. They require complex reinforcement and formwork. Additionally, they take up space, which can limit future expansion and usage.

Developed for various structures

The Stacon® shear force dowel is available in different designs – which version is used depends on the load to be supported in the area of the expansion joint.
