Paradis Express

In the heart of Liège, near Calatrava’s magnificent railway station, lies the new-build project Paradis Express. The design by the architectural practices A2M, Jasper-Eyers Architects and Bureau d’Architecture Greish (BAG) combines living, working and leisure in a sustainable and forward-looking environment. This eco-project comprises four residential blocks with 115 flats and studios, complemented by retail and catering spaces. In addition, two taller office blocks and one co-housing building are being constructed. The site has been utilised to the full thanks to several underground car parks, spacious basement levels and bicycle storage facilities.

Paradis Express was built to passive house standards, with particular attention paid to ventilation and the optimal use of natural daylight. Thanks to a well-thought-out building orientation, high-quality insulation and energy-efficient technologies, energy consumption is minimised whilst ensuring a comfortable indoor climate all year round. The thermal breaks in the balconies also play an important role in this sustainability concept. The use of Schöck Isokorb® XT K and Q reduces thermal bridges, contributing to improved energy efficiency, greater living comfort and a reduced risk of condensation and mould.
