Schöck publishes first Sustainability Report

While the term "sustainability" may not have always been explicitly used at Schöck, many sustainable practices have been integral to the company for decades. The restructuring of our sustainability management systems and team now equips Schöck and its stakeholders with essential data, streamlined processes, clear direction, and a solid foundation for decision-making. This enables the qualitative advancement of sustainability across the entire company, ensuring more focused control and well-informed progress. The inaugural sustainability report for the 2022 fiscal year by Schöck AG serves as tangible evidence of this commitment.

A step ahead of EU standards’ 2026 reporting requirements

The construction industry is a critical subject within sustainability discussions worldwide due to its carbon footprint. For Schöck, this is not a new topic – it has already been lived for decades. Starting with the introduction of energy-efficient products, energy management, expansion of photovoltaics, environmental certifications, commitment as a climate protection company and the climate neutrality initiative. These are a few examples, all while ensuring economic growth and a commitment to the well-being of employees and society at large.

The details of this are all encapsulated in Schöck AG's first sustainability report. The report was prepared voluntarily. Schöck is not legally obliged to do so until January 1st, 2026 in accordance with EU standards.

This is not just about the simple documentation of activities; it is a goal-oriented sustainability management strategy for the company. With clearly defined fields of action and performance indicators that are in line with the international recognized GRI index (Global Reporting Initiative) and the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).

Over the next few years, Schöck will continue to develop towards the required standards of the EU in terms of EU taxonomy and the ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards) indicators of the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive). So keep an eye on us when it comes to sustainability and take a look at Schöck's first Sustainability Report. We look forward to getting your feedback at export@schoeck.com.
