40 years of Isokorb® Simply the original.

This month, Schöck celebrates the 40th anniversary of Isokorb® structural thermal breaks. Eberhard Schöck, founder of the company, revolutionized the construction industry in 1983 with his invention for minimizing thermal bridges on projecting components, such as balconies, canopies and parapets.

The load-bearing thermal insulation element broke new ground in terms of building physics, economy and design. “The invention of Schöck Isokorb® structural thermal breaks was one of the most important milestones in the history of the company. It is as innovative today as it was then and is an example of the standards that we set for the development of our entire product range: forward-looking construction, better environmental compatibility, more safety, simple handling and the resulting cost effectiveness," says Mike Bucher, CEO of Schöck AG.

Since 1983, Schöck has been selling a broad and highly specialized portfolio for a wide variety of applications in new builds and renovations. In conjunction with experts, partners and customers, new ideas are constantly being incorporated into product development, adapting Isokorb® products to meet evolving market requirements.

Schöck has developed thousands of variants over the past 40 years: from the standard application for cantilevered or supported balconies, parapets or canopies, to individual and challenging installation situations with unusual geometries.

Schöck's goal is to always be able to offer the simplest and best solution for the respective requirements. In addition to extensive knowledge transfer, detailed technical information and digital services, this also includes competent design and service teams to offer education, engineering and overall product guidance.

After four decades of improving energy efficiency and occupant comfort while minimizing moisture related issues, we are excited for all that the future holds and look forward to the next 40 years of Isokorb® thermal breaks.
