The Greta and Robert H.N. Ho Centre of Psychiatry and Education (HOpe Centre) is a treatment facility located on the campus of the Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, B.C. With six-floors, including two underground, the HOpe Centre spans approximately 158,000 square feet.
Build to LEED Gold Certification with an energy-efficient building envelope, The HOpe Centre includes high performance glazing, heat recovery chiller, active chilled beam system, and displacement ventilation. The project is also a participant in BC Hydro's New Construction Energy Modelling program.
With an exterior façade of concrete, the eyebrows and lintels connected with Schӧck Isokorb® were recommended by the design team. Structural Engineer, Glotman Simpson lead the initiative to incorporate Isokorb® because of the direct contact of the exterior concrete with the interior slabs, in addition to their design goals for interior comfort and energy performance.
