Le Toison d'Or

The "Toison d'Or" is a mix of modern and traditional architecture. The building is located between two historic gates: the Namur Gate and the Louise Gate. This project illustrates the duality of the residential and commercial concept, and was designed by the international architecture firm UNStudio in collaboration with Jaspers-Eyers Architects.

The building contains 72 apartments (from 50 to 750 m²) and an urban floating garden of 2,950 m². The complex houses some 12,000 m² of commercial space and 330 parking spaces. The large curves on the front facade are used to define the balconies of the apartments on the upper floors and to form a frame around the windows on the ground floor. In addition to the exceptional architecture, the main feature of the building is its excellent thermal insulation of the façade.

The apartments have a large private balcony in the front and back. At the rear side, the balconies overlook an interior garden. The building has a total of 122 balconies, all of different sizes and anchored with Schöck Isokorb®.
