TYCHY, POLAND — On April 4th, Schöck marked the official opening of its new production plant in Tychy, Poland, with an Oktoberfest-themed ceremony in which invited guests learned about Isokorb thermal insulation connectors and the company's growth plans.
Schöck headquarters is located in the charming Baden-Württemberg region of southern Germany, a popular tourist destination known for its many festivals. During the official opening of the new production plant, Tychy turned into a small Baden-Baden, where "Oktoberfest" took place in Poland. At the banquet tables, guests were served German specialties by servers in traditional German attire.
Janusz Kumor, managing director of Schöck Poland, began his speech by referring to the words of the company's founder: “We operate according to the philosophy of Mr. Eberhard Schöck "You can never stop. To succeed, you need to develop new things or improve existing ones." With these words, Mr. Kumor welcomed the guests and shared his hopes that the opening of this new facility will also encourage the dawn of a successful next decade in the history of Schöck Poland. In turn, Czesław Gąsiorek, head of the Tychy Schöck plant, said that the new Schöck factory has 4,060 sq m of space, of which 3,500 sq m is a production facility, expanding development opportunities for the company. Schöck CEO Alfons Hörmann’s speech met with thunderous applause, as he said that the production plant in Tychy is currently the best of all of Schöck’s plants worldwide.
A representative of the Częstochowa University of Technology presented Alfons Hörmann with a medal of honor. He stressed the environmental performance, energy efficiency and high quality of Schöck’s products, and also the educational values that guide the company. Mr. Hörmann asked that the medal stay in Poland to remind employees of the importance of the Tychy plant.
Following the speeches, the symbolic ribbon was cut, marking the official opening of the plant, and a tour of the facility was given to all in attendance.
